Stay Fixed!

Scripture: Matthew 7:24-25

“These words I speak to you are not incidental additions to your life, homeowner improvements to your standard of living. They are foundational words, words to build a life on. If you work these words into your life, you are like a smart carpenter who built his house on solid rock. Rain poured down, the river flooded, a tornado hit—but nothing moved that house. It was fixed to the rock.

I can only talk about what I know and have experienced for myself. And this is what I know: in this life we will have trials, but we have to remember God's Word. God's Word is foundational for our lives. We can build our lives on His very Word. When we choose to build on God's Word, I truly believe there is nothing that comes our way that He hasn't already equipped us to handle.

So yes the rain will come and boy o boy will it really pour and come down hard, but at the end of the storm, we will not be moved, we will not be shaken. I'm not happy about how my Christmas break has panned out, but I sure am thankful for the Word of God. I'm thankful for the God I serve and the God who loves me. I'm still smiling because I am fixed to the ROCK!
