He Loves Us
John 3:16 "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life."
How great, you fell in love! You had a great relationship. Things happened, time happened, and guess what? You’re not in love anymore. Does this sound familiar? People grow old. They look different over time. They lose their charm. Life confronts you with difficulties and requirements. You must produce. You must work. You must deal with adversity. With all of that, what happened to the love you had in the early days that was so electric and fun? For some, they just bounce, for others it becomes a survival arrangement or convenience.
On this day, Valentine’s Day, I want to remind everyone that there is someone who will love you unconditionally. It doesn’t matter if you miss it sometimes, it doesn’t matter if you have a couple of wrinkles, it doesn’t matter if you’ve gain a little weight or a lot of weight.
Today, let’s be grateful for a God Who loves us no matter what. It is His unconditional love for us that guarantees a freedom from doubt, debt, accusation, condemnation, and separation. We were unlovely, but God loved us just the same. God spared not His own Son, but freely gave Him up for us all. Now that’s love.
